The EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) replaced the E111 form which was phased out early in 2006. The EHIC entitles the holder to state-funded (or free) medical care, in case of any emergency medical situation, whilst they are temporarily located in any EU country Including Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. You can apply for the EHIC free of charge at the NHSBSA website (www.ehic.org.uk). Unlike the NHS website, our online form is available 24 hours 365 days a year and every application will be checked manually.
