EHIC Post Office
The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), formerly known as the E111, was available from the Post Office. However, the Post Office no longer provide the check and send service in their branches or via the website. The service that the Post Office used to offer included checking (and if need be correcting) all the information provided by the applicant(s) when completing the EHIC (E111) forms. The Post Office would then submit application form for processing and the applicant would then receive the EHIC/E111 card by UK post within 7 to 10 working days.
Having a valid EHIC (formerly known as the E111) from the Post Office allows you to receive free or reduced cost medical treatment whilst travelling or on holiday within the European Union. The EHIC card is valid for 5 years and each family member will receive their own individual card, although under 16 EHIC applicants will need to provide details of a parent or guardian when submitting their EHIC application.
The post office no longer provide this service, however, we do.
